Nat Ayer and Seymour Brown wrote this next song in 1911. It’s about the famous Canterbury Tales story of a head rooster who believed the sun wouldn’t rise in the morning without his mighty crowing. It was originally staged in the Ziegfeld Follies of 1911 and is still a favorite over a hundred years later. All hail “King Chanticleer”!
